Cornwall is situated in South West England in Great Britain, UK and borders only the county of Devon to the East. The county town is now Truro, which is also the only City. The main towns are Bodmin, Bude, Camborne, Falmouth, Hayle, Helston, Launceston, Liskeard, Newquay, Penzance, Redruth, St Austell, St Ives, Saltash and Wadebridge. The Isles of Scilly are now also considered by many to be part of the county, which is divided into the districts of Caradon, Carrick, Kerrier, North Cornwall, Penwith and Restormel.
The county of Cornwall is one of the most popular destinations for holidays in the UK. It boasts a beautiful coastline and has a generally milder climate. Tourism is the major industry and the economies of many coastal towns and villages are geared towards the Cornish summer holiday season. The Isles of Scilly (or Scillonia) is a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and lies just a few miles off the Cornish coast. Land's End, Bodmin Moor and the Lizard Peninsula provide further tourist destinations.
